Fifteen years ago i started my business as a residential home remodeler after many years of working in and out of the building trades i had wanted to be more in control of my own paycheck and to be in the industry that i love. Business was good untill the market crash in 2005-6 and having been established, maintained enough work to stay busy. But starting to get tired of the ups and downs and the headaches of being a contractor. My real passion was woodworking and i was spending more time doing paperwork than my craft. So in November of 2013 i had a few slow weeks and decided to make, rather than purchase gifts for christmas. Having the time to set up a small shop started to make some cutting boards out of the scraps of material from past jobs. Well that did it, i found my true calling and started to think hard about what i was getting into. So to get some feedback started to manufacture a few different items and set up at some local farmers markets. The response was wonderfull but not enough sales to make the jump from home remodeler to Woodcrafter. So here we are with a retail website up and running. Welcome to Oak leaf Woodcrafts, browse and shop and send me all your comments, make requests, and ill do my best to fill your needs. And stop in often, alot of items are one of a kind or made in small lots and will constantly change, and as certain items become popular i will start to have permanent listings.
